Craig is responsible for the management, marketing, leasing, development, and financing of all aspects of the Philadelphia portfolio –encompassing 30 properties comprised of just over 400,000 square feet of commercial, residential, and mixed-use space. Upon taking title to these properties, Craig manages the master planning, architectural and design process, and rehabilitation and construction initiatives. Focusing on luring local entrepreneurs, start-ups, and Philadelphia based unique boutiques and food and beverage operators to the properties, Craig then manages the process of raising the taste level and adding value in and around the properties through merchandising, marketing, differentiating, and leasing the properties. Craig has integrally been involved in transforming a two block blighted area of Center City Philadelphia on and around South 13th Street, once commonly referred to as “red light district,” into one of the most exciting and popular “live / work” destinations that Philadelphia has to offer (recently referred to as Midtown Village). Goldman Properties’ portfolio and the contiguous neighborhood formerly housed check cashing businesses, pornography shops, palm readers and dollar stores - these uses have since been replaced by trendy shops and boutiques, quaint restaurants and cafes, and interesting “creative class” businesses and live / work loft dwellers. Craig graduated from Brandeis University with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy in 1990 and received his Masters in Business Administration from Baruch College in 1998. |
